ProLon 5-day Fasting Challenge: My Daily Diary

If you Haven’t heard of the ProLon kit, here is a brief description. Its a 5-day challenge broken down by day with your meals, snacks and supplements pre-selected. All you need outside of the box is water.

Now here is the part where I am required to tell you these are my personal and honest opinions. Links in this post are affiliate and commissioned. Now lets get on to what you are here for.

I wanted to try and start this Monday after the Easter weekend. While I been sick, eating whatever I wanted and when, it effects my type 1 diabetic body. I have realized I am a plump weight according to some of my fellow Instagrammers at the same size. I am not just going by that but I am starting to not like how I look in pictures. Like is that a bump? Food baby? Beer gut (okay wine)? During Covid me and the hubby did the oh so famous Keto diet and loved the results. On Prolon’s Amazon product page it claims

  • Cellular Clean-up: ProLon supports the body’s natural process of cellular clean-up, triggered when it’s in a prolonged fasting state.
  • More Energy: The majority of ProLon users surveyed said they had more energy after completing the fast.
  • Fat Focused Weight Loss: ProLon has been tested to help people lose an average of 5.7 lbs, targeted at visceral fat, and 1.6 inches of waist circumference, while preserving lean body mass. (Benefits seen in a clinical study of the 5-day ProLon cycle once a month for three consecutive months)
  • Enhance Clarity: Customers report having more energy after completing the fast, and feeling greater focus and clarity after their first fast with ProLon.

It showed up in 2 days to the house with my Prime membership.

DAY 1

I am ready to start this fasting. I am pumped and excited (I did have my coffee and cream, I’m a hard working sahm and wife on spring break, Give me a break it was for every one’s sanity.

My day started late, but it started with a bar, supplements and a tea which I chose lemon mint (win). The bar is like one of those healthy chewy bars, but I ate it slowly and it actually tasted not so bad, shocked.

Lunch was a soup packet (I choose the tomato) since it’s the middle meal and will allow me to not go to bed with acid stomach. I was most shocked after mixing it with water and cooking on the stove top (which is my preference, but can be done in microwave) ready in a matter of minutes and thicker than I thought it would be. It was really hard 1) I was starving and waited too long 2) My cutie pie wanted food also and I made him the best freaking toasted buttery grilled cheese. I debated on stealing the burnt piece of cheese that melted in the pan. I STAYED STRONG! Soup was great, the supplements were easy to take with water. The crackers were like a familiar almond cracker with kale which is either for presentation or nutrients? Oh well I don’t mind them and it gave a good crunch. Also with lunch is olives. I don’t like olives and not sure if I would eat. Okay okay they’re in there for a reason, they must help or be needed for something. LOL

Dinner was supposed to be Minestrone soup but honestly I was full and it was late. I did get hungry right before bed and ate the snack bar and that was tasty with a cup of spearmint tea. I did not eat the olives and went to sleep talking about missing the opportunity of eating the melted cheese.

DAY 2

I gained weight. WTF. Telling myself it was either the steroids for my cough, Pms, or my body went into shock of like “you will not starve me”. It was 2-3 pounds. Not happy, but slept great.

Happily, sarcastically, I drank hybiscus tea with the snack bar. Same as I went to bed. Easy to eat the chewy, supposed to be helping lose weight , detox, or ketogenesis that I am doing to try to fast start my new weight loss goal. There is a drink mix that takes some special pouring to your weight line and mixing with water. Which is slightly flavored as orange and didn’t bother me at all.

Lunch is a soup packet of Mushroom. I’m working a lot on the computer today and getting my life back together so easy to eat or sip. Okay it’s a thick soup and it is gross, but I ate it. Is this slop from Big Brother show?Hopefully no more mushroom soup. Took the vitamins and again skipped the olives.

Dinner is a minestrone soup with quinoa. Okay excited for this one and dummy me did not read directions to cook. Rookie mistake. I was making 3 different dinners at the same time. Little one dino nuggets, hubby wanted scrambled eggs (he is on his own kinda diet). I mixed my soup with water in a saucepan and as soon it started boiling I stirred and waited 2 min like the other packets. I went wrong by not cooking for 15 min. Come on Trilby it has quinoa. Luckily, I wasn’t hungry and ate the very grainy, not cooked well, soup.

Before bed I had lemon spearmint tea, and don’t tell anyone a couple pieces of bacon jerky.

DAY 3

Slept good again, maybe no drinking and eating junk has something to do with it. I am back to my starting weight, thank goodness! May be due to the lots of water and tea and it’s flushing out, I will keep it up. There is mention of this day being clean out and well its working. Fingers crossed I will go down to a new number. Kinda satisfying. ProLon I believe in you.

Breakfast is the bar and tea. Another water mixture to drink, but this time it’s tropical fruit flavoreds. The bars are growing on me. Don’t mind them at all, but if I had a choice between a blueberry muffin or the plant based bar I would quickly devour the muffin.

Lunch I pick the minestrone and managed to follow directions this time. Was much better than the night before. Had the supplements and vitamin capsules with plain water to drink.

Dinner was the tomato soup, which is my favorite out of all. Ate it with the almond kale crackers and actually enjoyed it. Texted my hubby that it was good and he replied I bet not.

Nighttime I am absolutely starving and tired. Little one went to bed way later and as soon as we started a tv show our daughter called. I was sipping my spearmint tea, while she debated life choices of a college student at 10 pm. When tea was done I left the hubby to deal with choices and went to bed.

DAY 4

Good morning, the sun is finally out and enjoyed my new found breakfast bar with hybiscus tea. I have the rest of the day set and figured out which soup for what meal later.

Lunch was a disaster. Went out on errands and my sugar dropped crazy fast and I caved. I enjoyed the McDonalds cheeseburger, handful of fresh fries with a mini ginger ale. Dinner will be back on track.

Dinner I ate the Minestrone soup, which I cooked correctly. Also failed at dinner with a tiny bit of pulled pork bbq. Another item I haven’t ate this entire time is the cocoa crisp bar. Im not much of a chocolate girl, I’d rather have something savory. Finished the day with a cup of spearmint tea and went to bed.

DAY 5

Last Day! I kinda made it, give me a break so I can pat myself on the back. My weigh in was lower also. My breakfast was the normal bar and tea. I am ready to conquer the day.

Lunch was a lovely packet of soup, and vitamins. Happy with soup instead of salads honestly. I am missing the taste of cheese and meat though. Water mixture after carefully measuring, still not sure what this does. Maybe add electrolytes? Drinking lots of water imagining flushing more pounds and stomach being flatter.

Dinner brought yet again another soup. Not bad since it has been a cold rainy week here. Kinda fitting and satisfying. I am so happy with myself for doing this and excited to tell you the final results.

Final Thoughts….

This was hard to keep to and you have to be determined to do it. It was easy setup for the day and you can pick when and what to eat. You will be hungry at the beginning and I do not suggest working out while doing this. I did lose weight. 5 pounds (7 if you count when my body went into shock). My stomach was flatter didn’t have the bloated food belly. I felt lighter and clearer. I would suggest this if you’re wanting quick results, or a fast track to starting a diet. You get used to the soups, tomato was my favorite out of them all. Teas were great to sip on. If you’re determined than this is a great way for fast results. I do imagine the pounds will come back quickly and they suggest starting after day 5 slowly reintroducing meat and dairy. There is also an online support group you can join and other products to keep you in line after. It is tough also when you are a family and one person is doing this. You kinda become a short order cook. You do not need any other groceries while doing the 5 day program. Just water to mix with soups and mixtures. It does allow a cup of coffee but no creamer. Up to 2 packets of stevia for the coffee or tea for the day. I did use a shot of half & half in my coffee in the morning. Again before trying PROLON talk with your doctor or health care professional. This was my honest thoughts and feeling on the product and I will give it 4 stars out of 5.

Will you try this? Am I crazy, well that is why I call it Trilby Style. Let me know below in the comments. Also you can find this on my Amazon storefront, and please hit the follow while you are there.
